Trips & rates
Prices are for the whole boat: up to four adult anglers and a child on a 25-foot SeaVee, unless the trip says otherwise.
Four hours on the whole boat for whatever is biting — mangrove and yellowtail snapper, Spanish and king mackerel, barracuda and sharks. Pick the morning or the afternoon. Live bait, rods, reels and lures are aboard, your fishing licences are covered, and keeper fish are cleaned and filleted at the dock when you get back.
Out at first light for the Silver King. Tarpon are why a lot of anglers come to Marathon, and they are one of the fish the Callions have won tournaments on. Live bait is in the well before you arrive, and every tarpon goes back in the water after the photo.
Season: 1 April – 30 June
The same fish, on the evening session — the boat leaves at 4:00 PM. For anyone who would rather fish into the evening than be at the dock before sunrise. Every tarpon is released.
Season: 20 March – 30 June
A half day set up for sharks. Guests on recent trips write about bull, lemon and blacktip sharks, and Captain John's own biggest fish is a 16-foot tiger shark. Live bait and heavy tackle are aboard.
Five hours in the shallows for bonefish and permit, sight-casting from the boat. The trip is set up for two anglers only. Fly gear is aboard if you want it.
Season: 1 August – 15 October
John's longest trip, leaving at 8:00 AM. Every trip can be shaped around what you want to catch — tell him what you are after and he will plan the morning around it.
The boat
Custom built in 2017, with a 300-horsepower Suzuki that cruises at 35 knots. Room for four adult anglers and one child.
