Shark Fishing in Marathon, FL: The Half-Day Shark Trip

If you want to see a shark up close in the Florida Keys, this is the trip. Callion Fishing Charters runs a half day set up for sharks out of Marathon. It is four hours on the whole boat, $800 for up to 4 anglers, leaving the dock at 8:00 AM.
What you can catch
Guests on recent trips write about bull, lemon and blacktip sharks. Sharks run in the family here. The Callions have tournament wins on shark, and Captain John's own biggest fish is a 16-foot tiger shark.
What is aboard
Live bait is in the well before you arrive, and the heavy tackle, rods and reels are already on the boat. Fishing licences for everyone in your party are covered. You fish from a 25-foot SeaVee center console with room for four adult anglers and a child.
Who runs the boat
Captain John Callion was born and raised in Marathon and fishes alongside his father, Captain Jack Callion. They are a 4th-generation Keys fishing family, guiding since 1979, and they know where the sharks are on this water.
